CPU Speed

I am planning to use 7100 in my design but I want to know the maximum MIPS I can get with this chip ?

Somewhere in the debugger thread is a timing analysis from my logic analyser where without the debugger a write port instruction executes in about 115 nsecs (i.e 8 - 9 MIPS). I haven't seen an instruction cycle breakdown though so other intstructions may take longer.

This thing should be mentioned in the datasheet. "WIZNET" please help me in this issue as I have to select MCU for my design

If you need an answer from Wiznet (which I'm not :-)) you should ask on the Tech Support
Q + A page at http://www.wiznet.co.kr/rg4_board/list. ... ode=en_qna. I think they monitor
this forum too, but that is the official information site.
That said, I'd assume if you are considering the W7100 you need IP and you don't have all thet many choices for MIPS to be an issue. Throughput is going to depend more on things like the compiler and language (i.e. for highest speed code in assembler) rather than raw MIPs.

You can see my same question on that forum also. but no reply from wiznet yet

Maximally about 22 MIPS.
But we can't exactly measuring because it is affected by instruction, compiler and so on.
I think it has good speed among the 8051 family.
